In 2017, a 70 year old man from London named John Nolan was reported to have burst into flames while walking down the street. 65% of his body was covered in 3rd degree burns. Investigators were unable to find a source of ignition.
In 2010, a 76 year old Irish man named Michael Faherty was found burned to death in his home. There was no damage to any of the furniture and no source of ignition could be found. The coroner ruled it as a case of Spontaneous Human Combustion.
